SPC Intruder Alarm Training
SPC, originally a Siemens product family and now under Vanderbilt, is one of the most widely-deployed intruder alarm platforms on commercial Irish and UK sites. This section covers SPC from panel architecture through programming and commissioning to the EN 50131 compliance handover.
The SPC platform
The lessons cover the SPC4xxx, SPC5xxx and SPC6xxx panel families, the difference between the smaller stand-alone variants and the larger expandable platforms, the X-Bus and X-10 expander architecture, and how SPC integrates with access control, CCTV and remote monitoring (ARC) services.
Programming SPC Pro
SPC Pro is the engineering tool that drives larger SPC commissioning. The lessons walk through the Pro download workflow, partition configuration, zone allocation across X-Bus expanders, user-group / authority programming, time-schedule construction, and the cause-and-effect output mapping. Smaller installs that can be configured at the panel keypad get their own section showing the equivalent menu paths.
Compliance and handover
EN 50131 grades 2, 3 and 4 are the framework that drives most SPC specifications — the lessons cover what each grade requires of the panel, the cabling, the housing, the comms path and the documentation. The full installer pathway, including SPC Pro deep-dive videos and ARC handover documentation templates, is the SPC intruder alarm course on bhcourses.com.
Pre-requisites
You should be familiar with intruder-alarm fundamentals (zone types, PIR / dual-tech / shock-sensor behaviour, EN 50131 framework) before starting on SPC. The Intruder Alarm Fundamentals course on bhcourses.ie covers that ground.
