1. What types of courses do you offer?

We provide online, video-on-demand training courses in:

  • Fire Alarm Course (Conventional & Addressable, Suppression, Air Sampling, Leak Detection) , course No1 + short courses, version for Ireland & International

  • Fire Regulations in Ireland Course (aligned with I.S. 3218:2024) (separate and part of course No1)
  • Fire Alarm Training - How to Operate Fire Alarm Panel (for office staff, managers, security personnel)
  • CCTV Installation Course (including Milestone guide), suitable for any country

  • Milestone VMS Quick Guide, suitable for any country
  • Intruder Alarm Training (coming online in the Autumn 2025)

  • IP Networks Fundamentals (separate and part of CCTV course)

Each course is structured into easy-to-follow video lessons, with supporting documents, and certification on request.


2. Who are these courses suitable for?

Our training is designed for:

  • Beginners entering the fire & security industry (there is an additional section in our CCTV and Fire Alarm Course dedicated to beginners)

  • Electricians & Technicians looking to upskill (90% of our courses' content)

  • Facilities Managers / Safety Officers / Building Managers / Security Personnel who need to understand how to operate fire alarm


3. Do the courses comply with Irish regulations (I.S. 3218:2024)?

Yes. We have International and Irish version of courses. Our fire alarm training for Ireland contains introduction to I.S. 3218:2024, ensuring that learners gain the knowledge required to perform duties as a Competent Person.in regards of Fire Alarms. This is a legal requirement for anyone involved in installation, commissioning, servicing, or maintenance of fire alarm systems in Ireland.


4. Will I get a certificate after completing a course?

Yes. On successful completion, you will receive a Certificate of Completion which can be used as evidence of training for employers, tender requirements, or regulatory compliance. Certificates are available upon request once you complete the modules.


5. How long will I have access to the courses?

Standard access is from 1 to 7 days from purchase, depending on a course. We also offer discounted access packages for companies enrolling multiple employees.


6. How long does each course take to complete?

  • Short Courses (single subject, single fire panel)— approx. 3 hours

  • CCTV — approx. 10 hours

  • Comprehensive Fire Alarm Service & Commissioning + Fire Regulations18+ hours (multiple systems covered)

You can learn at your own pace—pause, rewind, and revisit modules anytime during your access period. This also means that you can spend more time on the course, or less if you skip lessons.


7. What’s the cost of the courses?

Our courses start at €29 for short introductions and go up to €349 for the full Fire Alarm Service & Commissioning + Fire Regulations I.S. 3218 course.
Group discounts and extended packages are available. Pricing is transparent, with no hidden fees.


8. Can I try a course before buying?

No. Our courses do not include free preview access.

10. What do I need to access the courses?

You only need:

  • A device (PC, laptop, or tablet) with internet connection

  • Your login details (created during purchase)

No specialist software or hardware is required.


11. How do I access my course after purchase?

Simply log in to your account on bhcourses.ie and go to the course you have purchased. You can see all courses on the website, even before you buy (but you cannot open lessons). After purchase and log in, you will be able to open the lessons (there is a short video in your account explaining that).


12. Can I learn at my own pace?

Yes. Our courses are completely self-paced. You can pause, rewind, or repeat any lesson as often as you like within your access period.


13. Are the courses suitable for complete beginners?

Absolutely. Our training is designed for all levels. For Beginners there is an additional section in our CCTV and Fire Alarm Course.

More advanced users will benefit from system-specific modules, regulatory training, and can skip the beginners section.


14. Do you offer corporate or team training?

Yes. We offer bulk access packages and extended access for companies training multiple employees. Contact us for a tailored package that fits your needs.


15. What support is available during training?

If you have technical issues accessing content, our support team is available via email. 


16. Do you update courses as regulations change?

Yes. Our fire safety & fire regulations content is updated in line with the latest Irish and European regulations. For example, we have updated to I.S. 3218:2024


 

18. Do you provide hands-on practical training as well?

Our focus is online, video-based training for maximum flexibility. However, the modules are practical in nature, with detailed video explanations of wiring, programming, servicing, and commissioning. 


19. Do I need prior knowledge to take these courses?

We have few modules for beginners. However, for advanced system-specific or commissioning courses, a basic understanding of electrical systems or fire safety principles is recommended.


20. What happens after I complete a course?

After completion, you’ll have (depending on a course):

  • A certificate of completion (on request)

  • The knowledge to work as a Competent Person on Fire Alarms

  • Practical skills to apply in real-world installations and servicing

  • Improved career opportunities and credibility with employers

  • Confidence to operate Fire Alarm Panels
